Team Shack was created from a small group of friends from Chicago who made the trek up to Boyne Highlands the spring of 1998. We were a naïve bunch at that time and didn’t really know what to expect but had a great time in the process.

In our first Zoo ride, we didn't have a hotel on the island for that Saturday night and we wanted to stay because we were having too much fun to leave. At one point, a few original members who will remain anonymous, looked at each other and said, “screw it...we're not taking the last ferry...we'll find a place to stay!”

Of course, we had a couple of friends there from Detroit as well and they said we could crash on their floor. However, everyone seemed to find much better (and hotter) accommodations. Thus began our initial joking around how our group should be called Team Shack, and it has grown from 5 of us from Chicago to 59 in 2007, mainly from Chicago but many from Michigan and other locations in Illinois who joined in on the fun!

Zoo-De-Mack with Team Shack Chicago is a great way to meet and make a lot of new friends and is certainly a very unique way to kick off the summer!!!
